So the midwife suggested I started drinking Raspberry Leaf Tea today..
and that’s what I’ve done! It feels kinda good that I can now start drinking Raspberry leaf tea and hope it could possibly bring on early labour. It also feels good because I know i’m getting closer to meeting baby Imogen! Though I know there are mixed opinions on this method. Some swear by it, some say it’s just an old wives tale. All i can do is hope. I couldn’t find Raspberry tea on it’s own at the store I went to, it was a Berry flavoured one, but I read the back and it says the tea bag’s are Raspberry and Strawberry, so i’m guessing it does the same thing? She also told me to use a birthing ball.. which i don’t have, but i’m going to ask around about one of them, as i’m too skint to buy my own. She said to sit on it as it can help the position of the baby or something, as Imogen’s back is on the otherside this time lol but she said not to worry because i still have a few weeks left and that they tend to swing around during labour once she’s engaged or something.
I hadn’t tried Raspberry leaf tea until today.. I can definitely say it smells alot better than it tastes! haha, Though the taste isn’t that bad, and I can put up with it. I’ll aim towards 4 cups a day I think, hopefully replace it with my normal tea. My mum and Lewis suggested adding some sugar to it to sweeten it, but i’m afraid it might cause it to not work? Sounds sillyI know.
I’m 36 weeks and starting to use this method, I thought it was a bit early but apparently not. She said the baby can come anytime after 37 weeks and be fine, i think that’s why she suggested I start using it now because it takes time to kick in? that’s ‘if’ it works.
Has anyone used the Raspberry leaf tea method? I know you can get Raspberry leaf tablets too, which my mum used. Has anyone used them? Could i also have your opinions on the Raspberry leaf tea method?
- When you started using it?
- How long you used it for?
- How much of it you used daily?
- Did you add any sugar or sweeteners?
- Did you find any alternatives for this method e.g tablets
- Did you find the method helped at all? e.g brought on early labour
Thank you for any answers in advance xx
